✨ Unboxing our New Look! ✨
WHAT HAS CHANGED?
🌈 Easier Product Differentiation: No more guesswork! Clear product labels, distinct colors, and improved print quality makes it simpler to spot Dropps online, in-store, and in your home.
🏷️ No More Shipping Labels on Your Boxes: We valued our previous cardboard packaging, which doubled as a shipping container, but adhering the shipping label created several challenges: it often made the boxes difficult to open and hard to distinguish. Plus, we didn’t like that the packaging arrived dirty and worn from the shipping process, not reflecting the quality we stand for. By redesigning our packaging, we’ve resolved these issues to ensure a cleaner, more user-friendly experience.
🪶 Lightweight for Reduced Footprint: Our packaging upgrade is 18% lighter than our previous cardboard. By making this change, we’re able to reduce the carbon footprint tied to transportation—especially when stocking up on multiple boxes—allowing you to make a more sustainable choice without any extra effort.
WHAT HASN'T CHANGED?
🌳 Our Commitment to Paper Packaging: We’re proud to maintain our dedication to paper-based packaging. Making sure Dropps packaging remains curbside recyclable and crafted from a renewable, highly recyclable resource was essential to us. This choice reflects our mission to reduce plastic waste and minimize environmental impact.
♻️ Curbside Recyclable: Using materials that reduce waste and are widely recyclable continues to be central to our mission, and our packaging continues to be curbside recyclable. In 2022, the paper recycling rate in the United States was nearly 68%, compared to plastic’s rate of less than 9%. We understand the importance of using renewable and highly recyclable materials to maintain environmental responsibility without compromising visual appeal and durability.
🤏 Compact Design for Small Spaces: Our newly redesigned packaging boasts a compact size that fits perfectly into any space, from tight laundry rooms to small storage cabinets. We understand that maximizing space matters, so we wanted to ensure that our boxes were easy to store, handle, and transport.

📦 Packing Up the Past 📦
OUR JOURNEY FROM PLASTIC TO PAPER
Yes, you read that correctly! Dropps pods were originally packaged in plastic containers. 😱
Our transition from plastic to paper packaging wasn’t just a design update—it was a commitment to sustainability and innovation. For years, we relied on plastic containers that, while sturdy and functional, contributed to the growing challenge of single-use plastic waste. As our awareness of environmental issues deepened, we knew we had to make a change.
EMBRACING CARDBOARD
Driven by a belief in cleaner products and cleaner practices, we knew that paper, not plastic, was the way forward. In 2016, we made the conscious decision to move away from plastic. This choice didn’t come without challenges. We needed to find materials that were durable enough to protect our products during shipping yet light enough to reduce our carbon footprint.
The result?
Our first cardboard box that functioned as a shipping container and storage box!
Through extensive testing and customer feedback, we continued to iterate on our cardboard box to remove excess cardboard, improve usability, and enhance product differentiation.
BEYOND THE BOX
We heard you! While our cardboard box was a great start, feedback from our customers showed us there was room to make it even better. Here are some of the key issues you raised and how we tackled them:
- Difficulty Differentiating Products: It was tough to tell products apart, especially when purchasing multiple items or scents. We’ve now added clear, distinct labeling and unique colors for each product, making identification easy in any setting.
- Shipping Labels on the Box: Shipping labels often made boxes harder to open and hid essential product details. We wanted your unboxing experience to be as seamless as possible, so we developed a design that keeps packaging clean, with no labels on the box itself.
- Inconsistent Print Quality: Reading ingredients and product information on the old packaging was challenging due to the cardboard material, which absorbs ink and limits print resolution. We upgraded to a new paperboard material that supports high-resolution printing, so every Dropps box arrives with clear, easy-to-read information.
So, after much exploration and packaging prototypes, we made the switch to paperboard!
Our new paperboard packaging allows us to use industry-standard printing techniques, enhancing product differentiation with distinct colors and clear labels. It may look shiny and new, but it still features the material we’ve grown to love – paper! This new packaging is curbside recyclable, compact by design, and 18% lighter than our previous cardboard box.
We’re excited to have caught the attention of some of our favorite retailers, and we’re thrilled to expand access to our products at Wegmans, Meijer, Walmart.com, and Thrive Market!
LOOKING AHEAD
While our journey from plastic to paper is a significant milestone, it’s just one step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability. We’re always exploring new ways to enhance our packaging, make our products better for the planet, and provide our customers with the highest quality experience.
