How to Remove Baby Spit Up Stains

How to Remove Baby Spit Up Stains

Babies sure are cute, but that doesn’t mean they don’t make a mess! If you are a parent or caretaker you know not to wear fine fabrics around your little loved one. If you get spit up on and are hoping to salvage your wares, we can help you out!

Step 1

Remove stain

Remove as much of the spit-up from the surface as possible. If it's dried, use a stiff-bristled brush. If it is still wet, blot with a damp rag!

Step 2

Treat stain

Coat the stain with baking soda and then pour club soda over it while it fizzes. If it needs extra help to lift the stain, you can scrub with a brush again.

Step 3

Wash

Wash the garment in the warmest water the fabric will allow. We recommend Stain & Odor Pods for grownup clothing or Baby and Sensitive Skin Pods for baby clothes. You can also throw in an Oxi Booster Pod for extra power.

Step 4

Air dry

Leave the garment out to dry. (Drying with heat could set any lingering stain further!) The dryer will just cause the stain to set. Once you’ve determined that you’ve removed the stain, you can let the item tumble dry.
